To assist students and staff in the effective use of campus computer lab resources and educational technology tools. This position supports student learning by maintaining lab functionality, assisting with digital instruction, and troubleshooting basic technology issues under the direction of certified educators and campus administration.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • 48 college hours, an associate degree, or passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment of Academic Skills (required)
  • Technology training or certifications (preferred)

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of instructional technology, computer hardware/software, and internet safety
  • Familiarity with educational platforms (e.g., Google Workspace for Education, Microsoft Office, Learning Management Systems)
  • Ability to manage a classroom/lab setting and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Patience and enthusiasm for working with students of various age and skill levels

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support:
  • Supervise students in the computer lab during scheduled classes, assignments, or enrichment sessions
  • Assist students with log-ins, navigation, software use, and basic troubleshooting
  • Support teachers with instructional technology tools and digital resources
  • Reinforce digital citizenship and responsible technology use

Technical Assistance & Maintenance:
  • Set up, organize, and maintain computer lab equipment and supplies
  • Report hardware/software problems to campus or district technology staff
  • Ensure all devices are charged, updated, and functioning properly
  • Assist with inventory and secure handling of devices and accessories

Recordkeeping & Communication:
  • Maintain lab schedules and student usage logs
  • Assist with preparation of digital learning reports or usage summaries
  • Communicate with teachers about lab needs, issues, or student progress when needed

Campus Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with instructional staff to enhance student engagement through technology
  • Participate in campus professional development or technology-related training as directed
  • Support testing coordination during online assessments (TELPAS, STAAR, etc.)

Working Conditions:
  • Frequent standing, walking, and monitoring of students in the lab environment
  • Some lifting and moving of equipment or supplies may be required
  • May require extended screen time or keyboard use
    *Salary is commensurate with experience
    *Starting Salary $22,186
    *This position cannot be performed remotely
    *Position works 187 day calendar
    Sheldon ISD will accept applications for this position through 06/07/2026. After this date, applicants can continue to submit applications in case the district was unable to find a suitable candidate. If the district was unable to find a suitable candidate from the initial applications, applications submitted after 006/07/2026 will be reviewed in five-day increments until a viable candidate is recommended for hire.
