We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join our technology-based program supporting a key government customer. This program delivers engineering services on the ServiceNow platform.
The Software Engineer will support the team in the following activities (including but not limited to) in support of the customer's Enterprise ServiceNow Platform:

  • Involved in the planning of system and development deployment and responsible for meeting software compliance standards
  • Maintain and add new capabilities to the core ServiceNow platform to enhance functionality for tenants
  • Develop, test, and deploy updates to ServiceNow based on customer requirements
  • Customize and configure ServiceNow applications and facilitate rollout of new applications and modules; configure Application User Interface and workflow
  • Collaborate effectively with ServiceNow System Engineers and developers to develop solutions and handle general updates and configuration changes/requests
  • Identify system deficiencies and recommend solutions
  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of processes, standards, policies, working methods, and tools
  • Ensure appropriate tools and processes are in place for a reliable and reproducible development/production environment
  • Ensure tool configuration consistency across Development, Testing, Integration, and Production environments
  • Participate in ongoing production support and end-user support
  • Document testing and maintenance of system corrections
  • Research, design, develop, and/or modify enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software
  • Evaluate interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and characteristics of the overall system

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
  • A minimum of sixteen (16) years relevant experience with a Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • Minimum of five years hands-on developing ServiceNow products
  • Strong understanding of the ServiceNow Development Platform including, but not limited to, ITSM, ITOM, SPM, HR Module, Customer Service Management (CSM), Asset Management, Change Management, and Customer Development
  • Proven significant success developing ServiceNow products using JavaScript and other coding applications
  • Database Administration (Oracle or MySQL) experience
  • Ability to efficiently and appropriately estimate work effort requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Aptitude and willingness to work with a variety of newer emerging technologies/tools
  • Ability to deliver enhanced functionality, aid with new implementations, and provide continuous support while preserving system integrity
  • High degree of initiative, creativity, and technical ability
  • Should work toward achieving ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification while on task
