Position Description:

Programs, designs, and deploys software development, writes Oracle PL/SQL, and performs data analysis. Delivers maintainable, extensible, reusable and performant PL/SQL solutions. Applies modular design and object-orientated programming in developing software application components and reusable frameworks within an Agile environment. Works in an Agile software delivery environment using Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) tools. Enhances engineering practices in the areas of Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) and CI/CD pipelines. Develops applications including enterprise Transactional, Data warehouse and Operational Data Store (ODS). Supports all aspects of data movement technologies and Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes. Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.
  • Confer with systems analysts and other software engineers/developers to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
  • Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects.
  • Proposes modifications and improvements based on user needs.
  • Develop software system testing and validation procedures, programming and documentation.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing business applications in a financial domain hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, using Oracle PL/SQL and DevOps tools (Git and Jenkins).

Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing business applications in a financial domain hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, using Oracle PL/SQL and DevOps tools (Git and Jenkins).

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") participating in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) -- migrating and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (using Jenkins, uDeploy, and Concourse within AWS hybrid Cloud frameworks), supporting storage (using Relational DB, Simple Storage Service (S3), and DynamoDB), performing source code and structure management (using Git, Bitbucket, and Maven), scalable messaging management (using JMS Kinesis, or Kafka), and log aggregation (using Splunk, Cloud Watch, or Datadog).
  • DE monitoring, profiling, and troubleshooting performance-related issues for portfolio construction and management applications (using Datadog, Database Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), Oracle Execution Plans, and Oracle); developing application baseline behavior profiles to form the basis of issue alerting and monitoring; planning project operational and performance optimization (using DataDog and Jira); and building and performing application performance assessments.
  • DE designing business solutions using logical and physical data modeling, including relational and dimensional modeling (Data Warehousing, Star, Galaxy, and Snowflake Schema); implementing business solutions (using SQL, PL-SQL, Informatica PowerCenter, bash shell scripting, and RESTful services); and defining and implementing test cases (using UT-PL/SQL).

Salary: $139,950.00 to $149,950.00/year.
