Position Summary

The Daytime Direct Care Staff plays a crucial role in supporting our residents during high-activity afternoon and evening hours. This position maintains a safety-forward environment, provides restorative guidance, ensures smooth daily routines, and builds intentional and healthy rapport with the youth.

You will be a confident leader during structured programming, meal times, recreation activities, transitions, and moments of crisis. Your presence helps promote emotional regulation, accountability, and success for each resident.

Key Responsibilities: Resident Support & Engagement

  • Provide a compassionate, steady presence for youth ages 13–18.
  • Model positive decision‑making, communication, and conflict resolution.
  • Facilitate recreation time, chores, program activities, and afternoon/evening routines.
  • Build rapport with intention, consistency, and professionalism.

Safety & Crisis Management

  • Maintain a safety‑forward mindset in all environments.
  • Confidently utilize crisis‑intervention skills and verbal de‑escalation techniques.
  • When absolutely necessary, participate in physical restraint of up to 150 lbs (training provided).
  • Observe, document, and communicate resident behaviors accurately.

Program Operations

  • Assist with transportation, mealtimes, medication coordination (non‑clinical), and structured programming.
  • Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Timothy Hill Ranch in all decision‑making.
  • Collaborate with teammates, supervisors, and leadership to ensure consistent care.
  • Complete timely reports, logs, and incident documentation.

Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years old (per licensing requirements).
  • Ability to remain calm, confident, and in control during crisis situations.
  • Physically able to assist in restraints up to 150 lbs when required (training provided).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to give clear, firm direction.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Preferred

  • Experience in residential care, ministry, coaching, youth programs, law enforcement, or similar fields.
  • Training in TCI, CPI, CARE, or other therapeutic crisis‑intervention models.
