Job Title

Assist the Coordinator and/or Manager of Adult Education in the implementation of adult education programs.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
  • Certificate or license in appropriate field preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • General knowledge of computer systems and software applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
  • Ability to interpret policy, procedures and data

Experience:

  • Three years area specific experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist in the identification and preparation of sites for adult education classes.
  • Help to organize student registration, assessment and class assignments.
  • Comply with federal, state and local guidelines for implementation of adult education services, including registration, attendance and assessments.
  • Regularly monitor, observe, and supervise teachers and support staff providing appropriate feedback.
  • Monitor student performance on state assessments and other program objectives, and take appropriate steps to correct student performance problems when necessary.
  • Work with staff to provide a positive adult learning environment and assist in resolving issues of student discipline and student complaints.
  • Assist in processing accurate and timely payroll records.
  • Administer and score mandated state assessments according to the State Assessment Policy and local guidelines.
  • Comply with state and local guidelines for certification in administration and scoring of standardized assessments.
  • Assist in recruitment of teachers and staff and participates in the hiring process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
