Special Education Paraprofessional, Full Time 2026-2027

Dover-Eyota High School is seeking a Special Education paraprofessional. This full-time (35 hr/week) position begins with the 2026-2027 school year. 

We value our staff and believe they have great influence on a child's life. We're looking for candidates who will connect with students and who are dedicated and enthusiastic about making a difference for our students and community.

Job Objective: Special Education paraprofessionals support students receiving special education services throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers, specialists, and other staff to provide direct instructional and/or behavioral support to students. 

Required Qualifications/ Skills:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to pass competency test OR Two-year degree
  • Strong work ethic, high ethical standards, self-confidence, good time-management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including communication and listening skills
  • Positive, professional, and collaborative with others
  • Enthusiastic about working with young people

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for being knowledgeable about all district policies and procedures
  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with other staff
  • Support individual and/or groups of students receiving special education services in both academic and behavioral settings

Abilities Required:

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Patience with students
  • Problem solving with little guidance
  • Managing multiple tasks and priorities
  • Ability to use Google and Google features to complete daily tasks
  • Personalized Care Assistant (PCA) training is a plus and may be required for certain student assignments
