Job description

Onward Education is partnering with a local school district in Olmsted County, MN to hire a Special Education Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year in Minnesota, supporting our client with a hybrid/on-site model. This role is 30 hours per week with a 10:00 AM-4:00 PM schedule, focused on caseload management rather than classroom teaching.

Position Details:

  • Start Date: Aug 10, 2026
  • End Date: Jun 4, 2027
  • Schedule: 10:00 AM-4:00 PM
  • Location: On-Site/Hybrid, 30 hours/week
  • School Year: 2026/2027

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately 20-25 students and ensure services are coordinated appropriately.
  • Track student progress and produce clear, timely progress updates and reports.
  • Hold regular virtual check-ins with students on your caseload on a weekly or twice-monthly cadence.
  • Complete quarterly on-site meetings with students to support engagement and planning.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and develop accurate, compliant IEP documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Holds an active Tier 3 or Tier 4 license with ASD or EBD credentials, as required for the assignment.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a special education case manager for a student caseload.
  • Proven ability to develop IEPs and contribute effectively in IEP meetings.
  • Experience with progress monitoring and writing progress reports for students receiving special education services.
  • Able to support a hybrid schedule that includes virtual meetings and quarterly on-site visits.
