Discord

San Francisco, CA โ€ข On-site

$196K - $220K/yr

Full-time

Job description

Discord is used by over 200 million people every month for many different reasons, but there's one thing that nearly everyone does on our platform: play video games. Over 90% of our users play games, spending a combined 1.5 billion hours playing thousands of unique titles on Discord each month. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. We are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during, and after playing games.
Today, we have a set of data dashboards that help our top game developer and publisher partners understand their audiences and measure the performance of their Discord surface areas. But there's no dedicated product owner for this service, end-to-end. That means analytics roadmap decisions get fragmented across the team, partner feedback on data products doesn't have a clear home, and we're underinvesting in one of the highest-leverage tools we offer.
This Product Manager owns the B2B Platform Analytics product head-to-tail: strategy, roadmap, stakeholder alignment and execution. The product serves product, growth, marketing, and community teams at our partner studios-each with different needs from the data. The PM will work closely with data engineering and data science on pipeline architecture and instrumentation, and will be directly customer-facing: joining partner conversations with Business Development and customer success to gather feedback, pitch features, and represent the product alongside our product marketing team.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Own the analytics product end-to-end - strategy, roadmap, and execution for the data tools we offer our top game partners.
  • Talk to partners constantly - join calls with Business Development and Customer Success, hear what studios actually need, and bring that back to the team.
  • Work hands-on with data engineering - dig into pipeline architecture, instrumentation, and data modeling, not just dashboard design.
  • Prioritize ruthlessly - different partner teams want different things from the data; decide what we build and in what order.
  • Represent the product externally - be credible and effective in rooms with senior studio leads alongside our Product Marketing team.
  • Synthesize partner feedback into roadmap decisions - close the loop between what we hear and what we ship.

What you should have
  • 5+ years experience as a Product Manager - you've shipped and owned a product, not just contributed to one.
  • Formal background in data science or analytics - you can talk data modeling and pipeline architecture with engineers, not just review dashboards.
  • Worked at a top game developer or publisher - you've been the person on the other side, using platform data to make real decisions.
  • Deeply customer-empathetic - you understand how game studios and publishers actually use analytics to drive growth and community strategy.
  • Comfortable in partner-facing settings - you can hold your own with senior studio leads, take tough feedback, and turn it into action.
  • Strong product sense and prioritization instincts - you can articulate a vision and make sharp tradeoffs when everyone wants something different.
  • Effective cross-functional operator - you know how to align data engineering, data science, BD, PMM, and Customer Success without owning any of them.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $196,000 to $220,500 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
