Job description

Onward Education is a specialized education staffing and talent solutions company that helps educators, therapists, and school health professionals find rewarding opportunities with leading school districts nationwide. We're partnering with a school district in Hunt County, Texas to hire a dedicated Educational Diagnostician for the 2026-2027 school year.
This full-time opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student success by conducting evaluations, supporting special education eligibility determinations, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive the services and supports they need to thrive. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, knowledgeable in Texas special education regulations, and passionate about helping students reach their full potential.


Position Details:
  • Location: Onsite in Hunt County, TX

  • Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

  • Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week

  • School Year: 2026-2027


Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive special education evaluations and reevaluations in accordance with federal and Texas state guidelines.

  • Review student records, academic performance data, interventions, and teacher and parent input as part of the evaluation process.

  • Administer and interpret standardized educational assessment instruments within the Educational Diagnostician scope of practice.

  • Determine student eligibility for special education services under IDEA and Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements.

  • Prepare comprehensive Full and Individual Evaluation (FIE) reports.

  • Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and provide clear explanations of evaluation results and recommendations.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, LSSPs, Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and other related service providers.

  • Make recommendations regarding educational programming, accommodations, modifications, and instructional supports.

  • Monitor evaluation timelines and maintain compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements.

  • Consult with teachers and school staff regarding instructional strategies, interventions, and student needs.

  • Support data-driven decision-making to improve student outcomes and educational access.


Qualifications:
  • Master's degree required

  • Valid Texas Educational Diagnostician EC-12 certification

  • Experience conducting special education evaluations and writing FIE reports preferred

  • Strong knowledge of IDEA, TEA guidelines, ARD processes, and special education compliance requirements

  • Experience interpreting educational assessment data and making eligibility recommendations

  • Excellent written communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
