General Description
The Manager of Educational Services is responsible for the planning, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of MedFlight's clinical education, orientation, competency validation, and professional development programs. Reporting to the Director of Clinical and Quality Services, this position ensures educational programs support organizational goals, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and evidence-based clinical practice.
The Manager oversees Education Coordinators, Clinical Instructors, Field Training Officers, and Preceptors while maintaining an active clinical presence to support education, competency, and operational effectiveness.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
• Develops, implements, and continuously evaluates orientation, onboarding, competency validation, and continuing education programs.
• Ensures educational programs align with clinical standards, accreditation requirements, and organizational goals established by the Director of Clinical and Quality Services.
• Coordinates instructor-led, simulation-based, online, and clinical education programs.
• Coordinates national certification courses for MedFlight and MedCare partners such as BLS, PALS, ITLS, and ACLS.
• Maintains and evaluates competency assessment processes for all clinical personnel.
• Ensures required certifications and continuing education requirements are met.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Education Department.
• Maintains and manages the Learning Management System (Ninth Brain) and education records; improves utilization and efficiency within the product.
• Coordinates instructor schedules, educational resources, and training calendars.
• Maintains education facilities, simulation equipment, and training supplies.
• Develop and implement educational programs that support leadership development and professional growth.
• Provides coaching and support to Clinical Instructors, Field Training Officers, Preceptors, and Education Coordinators.
• Evaluates educational effectiveness through competency outcomes, participant feedback, and operational performance indicators.
• Promotes evidence-based education and adult learning principles.
• Ensure education programs meet CAMTS and other regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Develops and maintains education policies, procedures, curriculum, and competency standards for review and approval by the Director of Clinical and Quality Services.
• Maintains documentation supporting regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness.
• Collaborate with the Director of Clinical and Quality Services, Medical Directors, Operations, Human Resources, and Regional Directors to identify educational needs.
• Assists with onboarding, interviews, workforce planning, and competency assessments.
• Partners with hospitals, EMS agencies, educational institutions, and professional organizations to expand educational opportunities.
• Participates in committees and organizational initiatives related to education, quality, and professional development.
• Evaluates grant opportunities and external funding sources.
• Maintains an active clinical presence by working a minimum of one clinical shift per week. Clinical scheduling will be determined based on organizational needs and strategic priorities.

Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in nursing, education, healthcare administration or related field; or equivalent of 6 years of combined critical care nursing or active EMS experience.
• Current unrestricted Ohio RN license or Ohio Paramedic certification
• 3 years of progressively responsible experience in critical care transport, EMS. Or healthcare education.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ITLS certification (or obtained within 12 months of hire)
• CHSE certifications within 2 years of hire.
• Valid driver's license meeting insurance requirements.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including clinical shifts.
Preferred:
• Master's degree in nursing, education, or related field.
• EMS instructor and Continuing Education (CE) Instructor credentials.
• Experience with simulation-based education.
• Experience administering Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Grant writing experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Knowledge of EMS and critical care transport operations.
• Knowledge of competency-based education.
• Curriculum development and instructional delivery skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare technology applications skills.
• Ability to lead multiple educational initiatives simultaneously.

Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in an office and educational environment, with clinical shift responsibilities required to maintain clinical competency, support educational effectiveness, and remain engaged in operational practice.
Health and Safety Requirement

Salary
Minimum salary of $70,000 with higher compensation based on experience.
