TMHCC Stop Loss, a $2 Billion division within TMHCC, leads the way in providing medical stop loss insurance sold to employers. Medical Stop Loss provides an added layer of insurance protection to employers who choose to self-fund their health benefit plans. Self-funding can incur risks from catastrophic claims, and Medical Stop Loss insurance from Tokio Marine HCC is designed to protect employers from that risk.

This role is a great entry-level opportunity for new college graduates to break into the specialty insurance space!

Position Summary:

Under immediate supervision,processes,assembles, audits and summarizes Medical Stop Loss,Organ Transplantand MedPlus(and any future products acquired)submissionsforreviewandacceptancebytheUnderwriter.Responsibleforthepreparationof sold documentation,properand timely issuance of all new and renewal business policies and various other policy updates. Performs a variety of primarily routine tasks associated with the policy issuance department.

Key Responsibilities:

Relying on limited experience and knowledge, the PolicyAnalystis responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. Theseassignmentsarevariedinnatureandfrequentlynon-routine.

  • Enter sold case data into proprietary database.

  • Prepare sold documentation from proprietary database and route toappropriate contact for signature.

  • Interface with underwriting, premium, claims, licensingand any otherapplicable department to resolve contract issues.

  • Update and maintain Outstanding Documents log on a daily basis.

  • Follow-up and collect all sold case documentation in a timely manner.

  • Review all returned, signed documents andprocess in a timely manner.

  • Act as a liaison betweenAdministration, Underwriting and Sales departments.

  • Issue Medical Stop Loss,Organ Transplantand MedPlus(and any future products acquired)policies which consists of a pre-audit review, reviewingfordiscrepanciesandcompleteness,enterdatainthesystemandemailthecontractout.

  • Email the UR Transmittal Form(new/terminated)for UR Vendors that submitelectronic pre-certs.

  • Process Policyholder name and address changes.

  • ReviewPlanDocumentsandAmendments(within24hoursifthereareclaimspending).Ifnotable to approve, coordinate with the Underwriting department for approval.Sending out Acceptance letter once approved, journalizing appropriately and processing endorsement if required.

  • Follow-uponoutstandingrequirementsafterpolicyhasbeenissued.

  • Correspondprofessionallywiththeotherdepartmentsonadailybasis.RoutinelycorrespondwithTPA/Producers.

  • CompleteprojectsandotherdutiesasassignedbySupervisor /Manager.

  • Maintenanceofgoodattendanceisaconditionofemploymentandanessentialfunctionofyourjob.
