About the Role:

Reporting to the Associate Director, Experiential Education, the Experiential Education Coordinatoridentifies,cultivatesandmaintainsrelationships with community partners, with theobjectiveof sourcing experiential education (EE) opportunities that support the goals and curriculum of an assigned Faculty and related transdisciplinary work.The incumbent is further responsible for collaborating with and supporting the assigned Faculty with EE planning, design,implementationand evaluation, and for achieving synergies and creating/sharing best practices with peers across campus. This role also supports communication and marketing efforts that promote the activities and successes of EE.

TheExperiential Education Coordinatorwill:

  • Identify,cultivateandmaintainrelationships with community partners toprovideappropriate EE opportunities across theFaculty;

  • Provide nuanced messaging todemonstratethe value of EE for the community partner and student and to ask for support inprovidingan EEopportunity;

  • Meet with community partners, both internal and external, todetermineexpectations forEE;

  • Act as an ambassador for Brock and the Faculty at community functions, events and when working with community partners, to build relationships and respond to issuespertaining toEE;

  • Work with peers in the department to ensure a cohesive approach to partnership development and management, including streamlined and efficient communicationprocesses;

  • Create andmaintaina database of EE opportunities at local,nationaland internationallevels;

  • Assistin the development of short and long-term plans for theFaculty, related to experientialeducation;

  • Collaborate withappropriate DepartmentChair(s), Department Curriculum Committee(s)and faculty responsible for courses to revise theFaculty'steaching strategies and course organization on an annual basis, by recommending the most suitable types of EEin order toprovide students withappropriate experientialeducationopportunities;

  • In close collaboration with the Office of the Dean, design and develop critical path planning for existing courses/programs within theFaculty;

  • Assistin the design, facilitation and completion ofappropriate assessmentand evaluation processes tomonitorand evaluate community relationships and studentexperiences;

  • Develop synergies between EE activities throughout theUniversity;

  • Assistin integrating workflows and activities related to EE activities across campus, leading specific initiatives, asassigned;

  • Support communications staff in theFacultyand across the University to deliver messaging about the activities and successes of EE.

KeySkills andExperience:

  • ABachelor'sdegree in a relatedfield;

  • Relevant professional experience, including work in the field of experiential education,salesand/or relationshipmanagement;

  • Superior knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of experientiallearning;

  • Strong understanding of the pedagogy and practice of experiential education, including learning outcomes andassessment;

  • Proven ability to build long-term relationships in a complex, multi-stakeholderenvironment;

  • Knowledge of the educational process and courses/programs offered atBrock;

  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of local community organizations, publicagenciesand the private sector.National and international knowledge anasset;

  • High levelof professionalism when working with communitypartners;

  • Advanced communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and professional public speaking/presentationability;

  • Ability to work well independently and as a contributing member of a team that shares best practices and collaborates to find efficiencies andsynergies;

  • Target Hiring Range:$67,721 - $68,000*prorated for the duration of the contract
