What You'll Be Doing

As the Benefits Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting and enhancing the organization's total rewards programs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Administering and continuously improving employee benefits and compensation programs to ensure they remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Evaluating jobs and determining appropriate classifications and salary grades for new and existing positions.
  • Conducting market pricing and compensation benchmarking to support informed pay decisions.
  • Supporting annual compensation activities, including salary reviews, incentive programs, bonus administration, and variable pay processes.
  • Maintaining job descriptions, job codes, and compensation documentation.
  • Providing trusted guidance to HR partners and business leaders on compensation and benefits-related matters, including offers, promotions, and internal movement.
  • Participating in compensation surveys and analyzing market trends to ensure competitive total rewards programs.
  • Supporting pay equity initiatives and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and best practices.
  • Preparing reports, dashboards, and presentations that translate complex data into meaningful business insights.
  • Developing and documenting processes that improve consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Assisting with employee communications, education, and rollout of new compensation and benefits initiatives.
  • Acting as a trusted subject matter expert, providing practical solutions and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
What You'll Bring
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 3 years focused on compensation, benefits, or total rewards.
  • Strong experience with compensation analysis, job evaluation, market pricing, and salary administration.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits administration and total rewards principles.
  • Understanding of pay equity legislation and compensation best practices.
  • CCP designation (or progress toward completion) is considered an asset. CHRP or CHRL designation is also an asset.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with HRIS and compensation systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and partner effectively with leaders across the business.
