Job description

Job Summary: The Director-Testing Services is responsible for administering, developing, and overseeing the testing systems services for the School of Medicine.  Oversees and administers support to faculty and students on the use of audience response systems (Turning Point and PowerPoint products).  Develops and maintains in-house Medical Education Test Scores database.  Provides metrics, analytics and data support for the Associate Dean.  Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Master's degree required; Master's degree in education, psychology, or a closely related field preferred. Minimum five years' relevant experience required. Strong quantitative experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Understanding of how software systems transform data into usable reports and user interfaces. Understands how interfaces extract data from various sources and is familiar with data normalization, data quality standards, and education accreditation standards. Has a complete understanding of information flow between systems and connecting learning, curriculum, and assessment systems. Knowledge of specific vendor software systems related to curriculum, learning, and assessment management is necessary. Understands advanced statistical models and their application to direct and indirect assessment data. Proficiency in statistical software packages, such as Excel, SPSS, SAS, or R, and programming skills in VBA, SQL, and R are preferred. Able to measure, collect, analyze, and report on student learning and performance data to improve medical education. Understanding database systems and analyzing data using statistical software are essential. Able to supervise support staff and adapt communication style for effective project management. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities during critical system statuses, and the capability to handle multiple projects and deadlines are important. The candidate should have color distinction, sufficient hearing and sight for communication and workplace tasks, and the ability to read computer screens and written documents efficiently.
Licensures and Certifications: Database administration, information systems or equivalent certification preferred.
