We focus on Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) for upper‐middle market and large‐cap private equity firms. This role is part of our Education industry coverage team, working on integration and carve‐out projects for K‐12, higher‐education, trade schools, and training businesses.
Description As a PEPI Manager within the Merger Integration & Carve‐Outs (MI&C) service line, you will partner with clients throughout the entire deal lifecycle, from pre‐deal operational reviews to post‐close execution. You will lead teams, develop integration plans, and drive performance improvement. Responsibilities Identify key client business issues and provide service excellence using innovative tools.
Lead workstreams or focus areas within the Integration Management Office (IMO) – e.g., Synergies, TSAs, Blueprinting, Day 1 Readiness. Own Day 1 and Day 100 planning, execution, and performance improvement areas such as strategic planning, operational optimization, back‐office consolidation, supply chain, IT/reporting integration, and customer/channel management. Track progress against objectives, adjust integration strategies, and manage people as needed.
Oversee implementation of recommendations and drive continuous improvement across the enterprise. Qualifications 5‐8+ years of professional experience in corporate or consulting environments, ideally in merger integration, business transformation, or change management. Experience in the for‐profit education sector and understanding of key value drivers for for‐profit education investment.
Strong knowledge of integration planning and divestitures (preferred). Leadership experience managing workstreams in business transformation. Deep functional expertise in areas such as Finance & Accounting operations, HR / Organizational design, Communications planning, Supply Chain / Operations, Salesforce effectiveness, Marketing optimization, and Pricing/Margin/Mix optimization.
MBA preferred, excellent oral and written communication skills, initiative, critical thinking, and flexibility to travel up to 80% of the time.
