Sr. Product Manager, Hardware at Promethean solves customer problems, and views solutions through the lens of customer value delivery. They are responsible for product ideation, definition, planning, and delivery. In managing the full Product Lifecycle, this role spends most of their time leading product discovery efforts, helping drive customer research efforts by framing the right questions, keeping on the cutting edge of powerful product management practices and sharing knowledge freely. They are highly adept at stakeholder communication and fostering healthy, cross-functional team collaboration. 
 
Salary:  $116,200 - $145,300 + Bonus Eligible
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Define and execute a 1-2 year roadmap for Promethean’s Active Panel and display portfolio 

  • Align product strategy with Promethean’s mission to empower users worldwide 

  • Identify opportunities for innovation across hardware, software, and services within the classroom ecosystem 

  • Lead the end-to-end management of product lines, including hardware platforms, embedded OS (e.g., Android-based experiences), and connected software solutions 

  • Drive the launch of new ActivPanel generations and complementary offerings 

  • Own product positioning, value proposition, and lifecycle management across global markets 

  • Evaluate, select, and manage OEM/ODM partners for upcoming Promethean hardware programs 

  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams to assess vendor capabilities, cost structures, quality, and scalability 

  • Lead RFI/RFP processes and contribute to contract and partner selection decisions 

  • Ensure OEM partners align with Promethean’s standards for performance, reliability, innovation, and global distribution needs 

  • Use qualitative and quantitative insights (usage data, classroom workflows, field research) to identify unmet needs 

  • Translate real user problems into innovative, scalable product solutions 

  • Partner with engineering, UX, curriculum, sales, and marketing teams to deliver cohesive solutions 

  • Collaborate with global regional teams to ensure products meet local market needs while maintaining platform consistency 

  • Act as a key voice of the product internally and externally, evangelizing Promethean’s solutions 

  • Define product requirements spanning hardware, firmware, and software integration 

  • Manage product backlogs, feature prioritization, and release cycles 

  • Ensure high-quality delivery of reliable, intuitive, and impactful classroom technology 

  • Define and monitor KPIs for product success, including adoption, engagement, revenue, and customer satisfaction 

  • Continuously evaluate product performance and iterate based on insights 

  • Maintain leadership in the AV and edtech space through ongoing innovation 

Job Skills and Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of experience in the audio-visual (AV) industry, with a strong focus on display or interactive technologies. 

  • Proven track record of managing and launching new product lines, particularly interactive flat panels or comparable hardware/software solutions. 

  • Hands-on experience working with OEM/ODM partners, including vendor evaluation and selection. 

  • Demonstrated success in defining strategy and delivering complex, integrated hardware and software products. 

  • Strong lifecycle management experience, from concept through commercialization and scaling. 

  • Ability to leverage customer insights, market data, and analytics to drive decisions. 

  • Solid understanding of AV systems, including display technologies, touch interfaces, and connectivity. 

  • Familiarity with Android-based systems and embedded device ecosystems preferred. 

  • Knowledge of hardware development cycles, supply chain considerations, and global manufacturing. 

  • Understanding classroom technology environments, IT infrastructure, and procurement cycles in education. 

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills to articulate compelling product visions. 

  • Strong cross-functional leadership across global, matrixed teams and external partners. 

  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive alignment, including third-party vendors.
