About Radical AI

Radical AI is a fast-growing deep tech company replacing the R&D process that currently takes 10 years and $100 million to produce a single discovery. Instead of leaving world-changing industries like aerospace, automotive, energy, manufacturing, semiconductors, and space to engineer around material shortcomings, Radical invents new materials for specific performance goals in a matter of weeks. This acceleration of research is fueled by scientific agents that simulate novel compositions and then send them directly into an automated lab for physical synthesis, characterization, and validation.

The Role

Radical AI’s first in-house brand designer will own how this story unfolds in visuals, working directly with the executive team..

This includes:

  • Your own photography from inside the lab
  • Editorial and social graphics
  • Sales decks, one-pages, and investor materials (in direct collaboration with our Co-Founders)
  • Website designs (with support from a developer team)
  • Physical assets like swag and office decor (with support from production vendors)

That adds up to hundreds of assets a year. It also adds up to a rare amount of control for one designer. Nobody here will hand you a finished brief and nobody will second-guess a good decision.

What You Will Do
  • Turn moodboards and campaign briefs into visual systems, then produce the assets that carry them: social graphics, event decor, swag, print, and physical production.
  • Shoot original photography inside the lab, and pull from existing video, to give people a raw, authentic window into how the work actually happens.
  • Partner with our Social Video Editor to upgrade the look and feel of a three-times-weekly video cadence, and adapt that footage into design assets.
  • Produce the art for every blog post, and extend each story through bespoke visualizations and social graphics.
  • Work with our developer team to add new modules and experiences to the website on roughly a monthly cadence.
  • Partner with our Cofounders and sales leaders on sales materials, presentation decks, and one-pagers.
  • Use AI tools to explore more directions, produce more variants, and animate what would otherwise sit still, so originality scales instead of bottlenecking.
What You Bring
  • Five to seven years of design experience.
  • A portfolio of identities and assets that show independent, professional-grade work.
  • Photography skills strong enough to make our lab look heroic without staging it.
  • Experience taking work through physical production.
  • An ownership instinct. You find the problem and solve it rather than waiting for the brief.
  • Organization plus flexibility. Priorities and the editorial calendar change often.
  • Fluency with AI tools, and curiosity about where they break.
  • A position on where technology design is heading, and an appetite for making something differentiated rather than duplicative.

A scientific background is explicitly not required. What matters is your ability to translate several kinds of expertise into general-audience, ownable narratives, and into sharp visual expressions of what we do and why it matters.

How We Will Know It Is Working
  • Storytelling. You have a structured point of view on how design carries strategy, not just how it decorates it.
  • Taste. You know what is good, and you protect the brand from slop.
  • Communication. You explain your thinking clearly, and you collaborate well.
  • Growth. You push your own skill set forward, and you learn out loud from what does not work.
  • Prioritization. You keep several workstreams moving when deadlines shift, which they will.
  • Adaptability. You surface problems early and bring options.
Working at Radical AI

We are an in-person company, currently at the Alexandria Center for Life Science in Manhattan and moving to the Brooklyn Navy Yard in September 2026. You will be in the lab, with the machines and the people, because that is where the material is.
