Base pay is influenced by several factors including a candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, and anticipated contributions to meet the needs of the business, along with internal pay equity and external market driven rates. Dominion National, a rapidly growing and leading provider of dental and vision benefits, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior EDI Analyst.

This position is responsible for supporting data and business analysis functions within a fast-paced operational environment. The role includes ad-hoc reporting, business process analysis, technical documentation, and production process support. The analyst ensures inbound and outbound data files are processed accurately and timely while partnering with internal teams and external vendors to support ongoing business operations and project initiatives.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Lead analysis, design, and implementation of complex data integrations, including but not limited to 834, 837, 999, and 277 transactions.
  • Serve as primary SME and escalation point for EDI-related production issues and enrollment data discrepancies.
  • Perform advanced data analysis and validation using SQL to troubleshoot high-volume transactional systems.
  • Own end-to-end production oversight of inbound and outbound data exchanges, ensuring SLA compliance and minimizing operational risk.
  • Develop and maintain detailed technical specifications, data mapping documentation, and process workflows.
  • Identify and lead automation initiatives to reduce manual processing, improve accuracy, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for systemic issues and implement long-term corrective solutions.
  • Partner with external vendors, strategic clients, and internal business stakeholders to manage integrations and production timelines.
  • Evaluate and recommend enhancements to data architecture, controls, and governance practices.
  • Mentor junior analysts and provide technical guidance across projects and operational initiatives.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal audit standards related to data exchange processes.

Skills:

  • Advanced SQL querying skills (complex joins, subqueries, data reconciliation, performance analysis).
  • Strong working knowledge of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Deep understanding of EDI file structures, transaction sets, mapping logic, and validation tools.
  • Experience with automation tools, scripting, or workflow optimization.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data controls, and audit practices.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and execute high-impact initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps / Azure Boards or other enterprise ticketing systems.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume production environment.

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in data analysis, business systems analysis, or EDI operations.
  • 3 years of hands-on EDI experience, preferably in healthcare or insurance environments.
  • Experience working with membership systems and high-volume transactional data.
  • Proven experience supporting production environments with SLA accountability.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and cross-functional stakeholders.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, or related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • In lieu of degree, 4 additional years of equivalent progressive technical experience will be considered.

Physical Demands:

  • Sedentary work involving significant periods of sitting, talking, listening, typing and performing repetitive motions.
  • Work requires visual acuity to perform close inspection of written and computer-generated documents as well as a PC monitor.
