EDI stands for electronic data interchange. As an EDI analyst, you manage the systems that exchange data within a company and between the company and other entities. Your duties include customizing and configuring systems that process transactions. You may also acquire data about customers and business processes. You assess the technical needs of your employer or client and create a plan to meet those needs using automation, software, and EDI applications. You then implement the plan, test the systems, and make adjustments if necessary. Your responsibilities include using code like C++ to design or customize applications.

Position Purpose
Upholds the Credit Union’s mission of “We do the right thing one member, one employee, and one experience at a time to strengthen the communities we serve” by supporting the technology environment for the core account processing platform and related products by analyzing business needs, enhancing system functionality, and improving operational efficiency through collaboration with the departments.
Business Systems Analyst is an important role within the Information Technology Services department partnering with Branch Operations, Deposit Operations, and Support Services. This role provides operational support to the end users through troubleshooting issues, gathering requirements, and coordinating system changes and updates. This role ensures that technology solutions align with credit union policies while providing positive experiences for the members and employees.
Essential Responsibilities
- System Administration: Serve as technical expert for core-related systems such as DNA, Nautilus, Automic, tMagic, Prologue, Payments Exchange, and/or Ensenta, support the daily operation of systems to ensure they are operating effectively, troubleshoot system issues and coordinate solutions with internal teams and/or vendors, and assist system upgrades, enhancements, testing, and quality assurance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with departments including but not limited to Branch Operations, Deposit Operations, and Support Services understand workflows, uncover challenges, and identify improvement opportunities.
- Document & Share: Document business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
- Project Participation: Participate in projects in defined role, which may include leading small enhancements or well-defined tasks.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend process and/or system improvements.
- Vendor Collaboration: Act as an internal point of contact between the departments and the vendor to resolve technical issues in a timely manner to minimize disruptions
- Security: Collaborate with IT Cybersecurity to ensure adherence to security standards.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Collaborate with Risk Management to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Additional Responsibilities: Undertake any other duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Necessary Experience and Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in technology, business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1–3+ years of experience in business or systems analysis and operations
- Experience in the financial services sector is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate business needs to actionable requirements
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Experience working with core and related systems such as Fiserv DNA, Nautilus, Automic, tMagic, Prologue, Payments Exchange, and/or Ensenta is preferred
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Office environment with moderate level of noise
- Frequent use of telephone, copier, computer, fax machine and other office machines
- Prolonged sitting or standing
- Frequent mental and visual concentration
- Minimal lifting of up to 25 pounds
