Job description

TITLE OF OPEN POSITION: Garnet Recovery After School Program (3 staff members)

DATE POSITION WILL BE VACANT: 2026-2027 School Year

APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL: All spots are filled/suitable candidates are found

SALARY: As per agreement between the Phillipsburg Board of Education and the Phillipsburg Education Association hourly rate for a total of 30 hours each. Funded through Federal SIA Funds

JOB DESCRIPTION:    Oversee students completing the Garnet Recovery Course through the Edgenuity online program to make up missed seat time due to unexcused absences. Students will be required to stay after school to complete the program, 1 hour per day, for a total of 10 days for marking periods one, two, and three. 

QUALIFICATIONS, MANDATORY:

  1. Appropriate New Jersey Teacher Certificate
  2. Competence in subject-specific knowledge/skills
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  4. Student-centered focus
  5. Ability to communicate with students, parents, school staff, and community

QUALIFICATIONS, DESIRED:

  1. Experience in the listed activity or willingness to learn
  2. Current Middle School staff
