Location: Littleton, CO; Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite Only)
Type of Role: Direct Hire (Full-Time, Onsite)
Shift: 9x80 schedule (Every other Friday off; onsite full-time)
Pay: $104,500 – $184,115 annually in CA, MA, NY (excluding most major metropolitan areas), CO, HI, IL, MD, MN, NJ, VT, WA, and Washington DC; for other states, the salary range will reflect the candidate’s final work location and consider scope, responsibilities, experience, education/training, key skills, and market and business factors. POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role is for a Mechanical Dynamics Associate Manager in a structural analysis organization, focused on meeting technical program requirements while ensuring that dynamic analysis products are delivered on time and within budget. The manager leads both preliminary and detailed dynamic analyses of spacecraft and missile structures using advanced tools and methodologies, and provides day-to-day leadership and career development for a small team of dynamic analysts. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Lead and supervise a team of dynamic analysts in modal and loads analysis, environment assessment support, rigid? and flex-body separation and deployment analysis, and mechanical survivability and hardening analysis, while supporting multiple programs and business areas.
Provide mentorship, training, and career development for a team of approximately 4–7 employees.
Represent the structural dynamics organization in design reviews and in engagements with external contractors and customers.
Support the definition and execution of dynamic testing, including requirements development, progress tracking, data reduction, and comparison of test results with analytical models.
Account for related mechanical factors in analysis and test correlation, including thermal effects, material behavior, and overall system-level requirements. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS – BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated understanding of structural dynamics gained through education, hands-on practical experience, or a combination of both.
Experience working with dynamic loads and environments, including exposure to testing methods, analytical approaches, and mechanical systems or joint behavior.
Familiarity with modeling and simulation techniques, such as finite element methods and lumped-parameter representations of rigid and flexible systems.
Proven ability to lead or coordinate teams, with skills in organizing work, motivating others, and guiding engineering efforts.
Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship required. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment with strong team integration.
Demonstrates an ownership mindset, driving tasks from initiation through rapid, efficient closure.
Experienced in evaluating and validating designs using both rigid-body and flexible-body analysis techniques.
Broad background analyzing mechanisms, antennas, electronic components, ground support equipment, hoisting systems, test support hardware, and composite structures.
Proficient with industry?standard tools such as NX/Nastran, Abaqus, ADAMS, LS?DYNA, MATLAB, Mathcad, and CREO.
Hands-on experience with static, vibration, acoustic, modal, and shock testing of aerospace flight hardware.
Applies creative and innovative problem solving to diagnose and resolve anomalous mechanical system performance.
Committed to mentoring and developing junior analysts.
