• Conduct thorough assessments to determine the severity and impact of mood disorder symptoms experienced by clients, utilizing diagnostic tools and interviews.
• Collaborate with clients to craft personalized treatment plans that reflect their individual goals, preferences, and conditions, ensuring they feel empowered in their therapeutic journey.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to guide clients through their challenges effectively.
• Provide ongoing education and support to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, treatment options, and practical self-care strategies to foster a deeper understanding of their conditions.
• Monitor client progress meticulously and adjust treatment plans as needed, ensuring that therapeutic interventions remain relevant and effective.
• Engage in collaborative efforts with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to facilitate integrated care, creating a comprehensive treatment approach.
• Stay current with the latest research and innovative practices in mood disorder treatment to enhance therapeutic approaches and improve client outcomes.
• Maintain client confidentiality and accurate documentation in compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.
• Participate actively in case consultations and team meetings, contributing to a culture of continuous professional development and shared learning.
• Advocate for clients by raising awareness about mental health issues, combatting stigma, and addressing diverse needs within the community.

The licensed marriage and family therapist will work primarily with individuals experiencing mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. Additionally, the therapist may engage with specific marginalized groups, including homeless populations, refugees, and domestic abuse survivors, who face unique challenges in their mental health journeys. This role is integral in fostering resilience and healing within these communities, helping clients realize their potential and improve their overall quality of life.

• Possess a valid and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• Hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for building trust and rapport with clients.
• Demonstrate a compassionate, nonjudgmental approach to therapy, ensuring clients feel understood and supported throughout their treatment.
