EDEs allow consumers to apply for and enroll in Marketplace health insurance plans directly through their websites, rather than through HealthCare.gov. They must meet strict privacy and security requirements to handle sensitive personal information. EDEs help streamline the enrollment process and can offer additional tools or support to consumers.
