Familiarity with eddy current testing equipment, signal interpretation software, and industry safety standards is essential. What is an Eddy Current job?

An Eddy Current job typically involves testing and inspecting materials, primarily metals, for defects using electromagnetic induction. Eddy Current technicians or inspectors use specialized equipment to detect cracks, corrosion, or material inconsistencies in industries like aerospace, manufacturing, and power generation. This non-destructive testing (NDT) method helps ensure structural integrity and safety. Technicians interpret data, prepare reports, and may work in field or laboratory settings. Certification and training are often required to perform Eddy Current testing effectively.
