Job description

What to Expect

As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Elizabethtown, KY plant, you will be a Sr. Engineering Technician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to product engineers for new product specification setups and product line launches.
  • Create and revise Bill of Materials (BOMs) for products.
  • Act as local Engineering Change Request (ECR) Coordinator. Create and submit ECRs for new products and for modification of existing products. Track ECRs from submission to completion, monitoring sign-off progressions, and conducting final review to ensure all modifications are correct, complete, and traceable.
  • Act as liaison between customer service and product engineers. Respond to customer service inquiries regarding feasibility of potential product setups and provide detailed information regarding existing products per customer requests.
  • Mentor and provide SME level training to engineers and technicians on specifications, ECRs, and test related functions.
  • Standardize, maintain, and update procedures and work instructions for training and use by engineers and other technicians.
  • Handle domestic and international FedEx shipments for the Gates Elizabethtown plant. Address any delays or interruptions of service and obtain Electronic Export Information (EEI) when required by working with International Transportation analysts.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university - science, technology, engineering, or math preferred
  • 8-10 years of related experience
  • Product development and manufacturing experience
  • Advanced knowledge of specification databases and associated processes
  • Ability to review drawings and verify accuracy of specification calculations
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
