Job description

The Global Sustainability Leader is responsible for advancing Americhem’s sustainability strategy as a key driver of business growth, innovation, operational excellence, and customer value creation. This role partners cross-functionally with commercial, technology, operations, procurement, and executive leadership teams to integrate sustainability into market strategy, product development, manufacturing operations, and customer engagement.

The position leads Americhem’s sustainability programs, reporting, and market-facing initiatives while identifying opportunities related to sustainable product innovation, regulatory preparedness, circular economy initiatives, and customer sustainability goals.

In this role, the Global Sustainability Leader translates evolving sustainability regulations, market trends, and customer expectations into practical business strategies that support long-term growth, operational improvement, and market differentiation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Americhem’s global sustainability strategy in alignment with long-term business objectives, operational priorities, and growth initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee the development and execution of environmental improvement plans and sustainability targets across Americhem’s global regions.
  • Monitor evolving sustainability regulations, customer requirements, and industry trends to support regulatory preparedness, certification efforts, and long-term business strategy.
  • Lead sustainability reporting initiatives, including EcoVadis, customer disclosures, KPI tracking, and annual sustainability reporting.
  • Collaborate with technology, operations, procurement, and commercial teams to translate sustainability data and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) insights into operational improvements and customer value.
  • Support responsible sourcing, supplier sustainability initiatives, and sustainability-related business decision-making processes.
  • Promote a culture of sustainability across the organization through stakeholder awareness initiatives, employee engagement programs, internal communications, training, and workshops.
  • Support commercial and business development teams with sustainability-related resources, customer communications, and market-facing materials.
  • Ensure adherence to international sustainability reporting standards and evolving regulatory requirements through transparent, accurate reporting and ongoing compliance monitoring.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and public speaking engagements to showcase our sustainability leadership.
  • Drive sustainability-driven market growth initiatives and OEM engagement opportunities across strategic business segments.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage sustainability as a competitive differentiator through product innovation, customer engagement, and operational improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in sustainability consulting, environment management, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated success integrating sustainability initiatives into commercial strategy, product development, and operational decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability frameworks and reporting standards including GRI, EcoVadis, GHG Protocol, Scope 1–3 emissions, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and/or Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) methodologies.
