Job description

Job Summary:

The Traffic Controller is responsible for the supervision and success of the Deerfield Beach, FL transfer station.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct traffic in and out of the transfer station

  • Communicate with Dispatch

  • Manage equipment counts to reflect customer needs

  • Supervise and train drivers
  • Manage movement of equipment to ensure efficient workflow
  • Enforce all safety policies and procedures and conduct regular inspections
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations
  • Manage operation and maintenance of heavy equipment
  • Tarping required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred
  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in waste management, logistics, or operations
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with exposure to noise, dust, and waste materials
  • Able to sustain physical activity, including walking, standing, and lifting for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
  • Ability to operate machinery and perform site inspection

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA certification
  • CDL
  • Heavy equipment operation certification

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
