The Role

Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services with 278 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time

The Role

Netflix's Growth and Commerce Organization is responsible for the business relationship that consumers have with Netflix- including what plans we offer and at what price, how consumers pay for Netflix, and the flows that allow them to sign up, change plans, or cancel Netflix. This role focuses on our consumer acquisition strategy and how consumers experience Netflix before they enter the app. This includes our signup flow where we sell Netflix to consumers, how consumers log-in to Netflix, and how we partner and bundle with other companies. Our Data Science team helps scale data driven decision making in these areas. We deep dive to identify opportunity areas and inform Netflix's strategy, run AB tests or utilize other causal inference techniques to understand the impact of new experiences and build machine learning to scale rapid innovation in these areas.

What you'll do

We're looking for an accomplished data science and analytics leader to lead a diverse team of talented, individual contributors who are experts in the fields of analytics, experimentation, and machine learning. You will lead, mentor, and inspire a team of data scientists and analytics engineers to consistently deliver business impact. You'll partner with teams that define consumer experiences before someone is logged in to set business strategy, support long-term technical vision, and drive influence. You'll keep an eye toward scaling analytics, access to insights, innovating on methodologies, and finding new opportunities to apply high-impact science and analytics to Netflix challenges.

About you

  • Demonstrated success in designing and delivering data science and analytics projects within highly ambiguous and complex business environments

  • Master's or PhD degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering or other relevant fields

  • Experience hiring and leading high-caliber, data-focused teams with varying technical strengths across analytics, experimentation, and machine learning

  • Tenacious and flexible and can effectively organize and lead cross-functional projects, overcome challenges, and propose new solutions

  • Strength in independently finding opportunities and executing on science and analytics challenges for maximum business impact

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a wide variety of technical and business stakeholders
