Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Strategy & Entrepreneurship in the College of Business and Economics invites applications from qualified professionals interested in teaching as an Adjunct Instructor.
The department's immediate need is for an instructor to teach International Trade and Investment Law, an undergraduate International Business course beginning in Fall 2026. This course is delivered fully online in an asynchronous format. A course shell and textbook are provided.
In addition to this immediate opportunity, applications will be considered for future adjunct teaching needs in online, remote (synchronous), and in-person course formats.
Adjunct instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to support the department's instructional needs.

The Department of Strategy & Entrepreneurship prepares students to lead, innovate, and create value in organizations ranging from startups to global enterprises. Faculty bring together academic knowledge and professional practice to help students develop the strategic, entrepreneurial, and international business skills needed in today's marketplace.
About the College of Business and Economics
The College of Business and Economics is one of 3% of business schools globally accredited by AACSB in both business and accounting. Our mission is to inspire purpose, grow people, create knowledge and power innovation. It is a growing college that serves approximately 4000 undergraduate and 500 graduate business students annually. It is dedicated to quality teaching and learning and offers 14 bachelor's degrees and 11 master's degree programs. The College of Business and Economics creates knowledge through high-quality research with faculty publishing in leading journals in their disciplines as well as serving as editors and reviewers. In addition to powering innovation through faculty and student research and entrepreneurship activities, the college hosts the outward-facing Small Business Development Center Network and TechHelp. These organizations are dedicated to business innovation and economic development in Idaho.
The college's academic units are housed in the Micron Business and Economics Building, a world-class facility with state-of-the-art classrooms and offices, a Bloomberg-equipped trading room, faculty collaboration spaces, the Imagination Lab, a student commons, and a cafe. The building is a short distance from the beautiful Boise River. It is both geothermal and solar-assisted. This environment stimulates collaboration and creativity.
Position Responsibilities
Adjunct instructors are responsible for teaching assigned courses and supporting student learning. Responsibilities include:
- Delivering high-quality instruction aligned with course learning outcomes.
- Evaluating student performance and assigning grades in accordance with course requirements and university policies.
- Applying appropriate teaching methods and instructional practices.
- Maintaining expertise in the assigned discipline.
- Supporting a positive and professional learning environment.
- Collaborating with department leadership and staff as needed.
Adjunct faculty are not required to participate in shared governance, are not responsible for student advising, and are not voting members of the department.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related field, MBA, or J.D.
- Academic or professional expertise relevant to international business, international trade, business law, or a closely related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of teaching experience at the college or university level.
- Professional experience related to international business, trade, investment, or business law.
Compensation
Compensation is based on degree earned and the number of credits taught. The starting rate for adjunct instructors is $1,304 per credit hour.
