What You Will Be Doing:

The Facilities Development Project Manager is responsible for working directly with the Facilities Director in the successful delivery of renovation and new-build capital improvement projects in support of Yancey’s continuing growth throughout the State of Georgia and other strategic locations. The Facilities Development Project Manager will coordinate with internal customers/project stakeholders, and outside consultants on a regular basis to ensure projects are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work with, and provide support to, Facilities Director to ensure timely/cost effective delivery of quality facilities throughout the growing Yancey Facilities Enterprise.
  • Assist in supervision, direction, and coordination of activities with the Architect, Contractor, and any others under contract with Owner in connection with renovations and new-build projects as appropriate.
  • Provide day-to-day support of implementing Yancey standard project delivery procedures for renovation and new-build projects.
  • Create, maintain, and manage master project timelines and budgets.
  • Maintain Master Project Development Matrix for use at regular Real Estate Committee Mtgs.
  • Assist in the review of contractual agreements, proposed change orders, and any other requests related to schedule and budget where appropriate.
  • Review contractor pricing and support value engineering process as required.
  • Provide timely responses and owner supplied information to project team as required to maintain project momentum and scheduling objectives.
  • Provide support to team in working with Authorities Having Jurisdiction to secure Land Disturbance and Building Permits.
  • Attend Owner/Architect/Contractor (OAC) Meetings on a regular basis.
  • Review monthly pay applications and project draws for processing and payment.
  • Execute project closeout duties including Architect’s punch list generation, compilation and of operations and maintenance manuals, warranties, final lien waivers, and training of operations staff by Contractor where required. Ensure certificate of substantial and final completion is issued by the architect.
  • Other duties as assigned and qualified

  • Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.

To be successful in this position you should have a strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of tools applicable to the position, and the desire to learn.  You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service.  The ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision is required for this position as well.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university or related equivalent experience.
  • Architectural, Engineering, or Construction Management Degree preferred
  • 7-10 years of proven success in design/engineering/construction project management preferred.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Problem-Solving Capabilities / Service Oriented Mindset / Ability to engage well with internal customers and external project teams
  • Success Oriented / Self-Motivated
  • Ability to conduct / direct / execute multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Detailed understanding of financial and operational metrics related to implementing project work (i.e. budget tracking, schedule management, competitive bidding, team coordination, etc.
  • Must have a valid class C Georgia driver’s license.
    Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions: 
    • Frequently Lift/Carry/Lower 1 – 15 Lbs, Frequently Lift/Carry/Lower 15 – 30 Lbs, occasionally Lift/Carry/Lower 30 – 50 Lbs, seldom Lift/Carry/Lower 50 – 75 Lbs, never Lift/Carry/Lower 75 – 100 Lbs +. Frequently pushing/pulling, reaching (both above and below shoulder), bending/twisting, walking, standing, repetition – hand/wrist simple and firm grasping. Occasionally crouching/stooping/squatting, crawling/kneeling, climbing/stepping.
    • Occasionally (when on a work site) work in extreme weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and ice.  Shop environment may still be extremely hot (over 90 degrees) or cold (less than 40 degrees).  Equipment, tools and job site may be very loud requiring hearing protection.  Environment may include vibrations, strong odors, moving mechanical parts, exposure to electrical shock, flammable liquids and gases, oils and solvents, working on platforms or equipment over 4 feet from the ground.  Appropriate PPE maybe required and mandated by Yancey Bros. Co.
