Job description


As our Regional Sales Manager located in McKinney or Stafford, TX or from a remote location within the assigned territory, you will be responsible for driving sales of pressure-reducing equipment, including pressure reducing valves and regulators, safety relief valves, pressure relief, back-pressure valves and other pressure management equipment in your respective region, working with Distributors, Representatives, and OEM accounts.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Manage Sales Channel - Develop and maintain relationships with sales channel organizations within established geographic and product/market parameters. Lead and direct the sales channel network by providing product and application training, assistance in the development of accounts, make customer sales calls with distributor/representatives, follow up on all Sales objectives and Marketing department directives; selects, trains and evaluates all responsible sales channel organizations to ensure you meet or exceed all sales objectives.
Market Knowledge - Gather and disseminate market information to the Marketing Department and within Sales Team regarding regional economic conditions, trends in market activity and technology, changes in customer behaviors, growth opportunities and competitor actions
  • Regional Forecasts - Develop and maintain regional sales forecasts and communicate changes to the Director of Sales, North America on an ongoing basis.
  • Market Intelligence - Continuously monitor market activities within assigned industrial markets and key markets within the defined territory and communicate this information on a routine basis to Marketing and within Sales.
  • New Product Development - Generate ideas, and elicit ideas from sales channels and customers, for new products and services; presents ideas for internal evaluation; actively participates on New Product development teams as assigned.

Promotional Strategies - Support the development of promotional strategies to provide increased visibility and market penetration
  • Technical Seminars and Industry Trade Shows - Plan and conduct technical training and seminars, participate at trade shows and in other activities to facilitate sales growth.
  • New Product Adoption - Meet or exceed new product sales targets through strategies and goals specific to your region and sales channel. Support customer adoption of new products through training, field trial agreements, and collaboration with sales channel around account plans before and after launch.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years' experience in safety/pressure relief valves or pressure regulator products
  • 2+ years' experience in direct and/or representative channel sales, business development, marketing or other customer facing roles with technical industrial products
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales results and sales performance
  • Demonstrated ability to support the sales channel and partner to resolve issues as they arise. Proven ability to drive strong performance in key strategic initiatives
  • Successful track record of working with a team to achieve consistent sales growth
  • High level of integrity
  • Capable of building trust with others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Able to travel overnight 50% of time, or as required
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required - visa sponsorship will not be provided

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical discipline
  • Experience in Steam, Compressor, ASME Boiler or Pressure Vessel applications
  • Experience in the Natural Gas, Cryogenic or Process Industries
  • Prior experience working at Emerson
  • Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range $99,300 - 141,800 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
