Department: E-Commerce

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Reports to: E-Commerce Manager

About the Position

The E-Commerce Supervisor is responsible for all E-commerce departments, along with book operations. This role is also responsible for achieving department and organizational objectives for exceptional customer service.

 

Pay Rate: $23.97/hour 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

  • Identify and value appropriate merchandise.
  • Able to list auctions with picture and description of merchandise to bring maximum value.
  • Prepare a monthly update identifying items needed for internal auctions.
  • Maintaining a daily tracking board by E-commerce Lister, number of listed item, how many sold and the sale amount.
  • Motivating the team by tracking who had the highest ratio in sold to listed items and the highest dollar amount.
  • Create department standards and hold staff accountable.
  • Develop and maintain a team oriented environment.
  • Assist in hiring and training of staff.
  • Customer service and communication with internal and external customers.
  • Follow up on non-paying customers and issue refunds.
  • Maintain an E-Bay rating at least 98%.
  • Track sales for the organization and by store.
  • Keep auction sales premises clean.
  • Provide excellent internal/external customer service.
  • Maintain a clean work environment.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Goodwill’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Partner with People Relations as needed and appropriate.

Education and Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalency, but not required
  • Minimum 1 year of E-Commerce experience with preferably with auction and books.  
  • Previous supervisor experience preferred. 
  • Ability to provide good customer service with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate people, instill accountability and achieve results.

Computer/Technology Skills:

  • Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
  • Internet research skills
  • Ability to learn new technology and software as related to the job.

 

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

  • Must have valid Washington Driver’s license and proof of insurance along with good driving record.

Physical Abilities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to lift and carry up to 35-50 pounds; have developed fine motor control (grasp, handle, manipulate objects with fingers; standing for long periods, frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stooping, squatting, pushing; climbing ladders; able to travel across a variety of surfaces (stairs, ramps, uneven terrain). Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.
