Electronic Commerce Manager

The Electronic Commerce Manager is responsible for the strategy, development, optimization, and day-to-day operation of the companyโ€™s ecommerce and digital sales channels. This role partners crossโ€‘functionally to ensure accurate product data, strong customer experience, system integrations, and scalable ecommerce operations that support B2B growth.

Key Responsibilities

Ecommerce Operations & Performance

  • Lead the development, management, and ongoing optimization of the companyโ€™s ecommerce website and digital sales channels.
  • Manage and monitor ecommerce sales performance, site traffic, user behavior, and conversion metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Regularly review the endโ€‘toโ€‘end customer journey and implement enhancements to improve usability, customer experience, and online sales.
  • Support and manage dynamic pricing capabilities within a Businessโ€‘toโ€‘Business ecommerce environment.
  • Track site performance across channels and prepare regular reporting for stakeholders.

Product Data & Catalog Management

  • Oversee a large and complex product catalog (400K+ SKUs), ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all ecommerce platforms.
  • Maintain and improve product taxonomy, attributes, content, and data standards.
  • Lead product data governance, normalization, and quality control efforts.
  • Ensure all product information, copy, and pricing remain current and accurate.
  • Partner with thirdโ€‘party suppliers to synchronize product data and content at scale.
  • Support and manage systemโ€‘toโ€‘system ordering and punchโ€‘out catalogs for key customers.

Systems, Integrations & Technical Collaboration

  • Work closely with IT, internal stakeholders, and thirdโ€‘party vendors to manage integrations between ERP systems, ecommerce platforms, procurement systems, and related tools.
  • Support and manage corporate eโ€‘procurement platforms (e.g., Ariba, Coupa, Oracle, punchโ€‘out catalogs).
  • Pull, analyze, and distribute reports using Business Objects and other reporting tools to support decisionโ€‘making.

Vendor, Customer & Crossโ€‘Functional Collaboration

  • Manage Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) and consignment agreements in partnership with branch locations and customers.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, Sales, Accounting, Marketing, and external vendors to support ecommerce initiatives.
  • Work with Marketing and ecommerce partners to define online catalog requirements, website enhancements, promotions, and content needs.
  • Implement and maintain bestโ€‘practice search engine optimization (SEO) strategies.
  • Add and manage store events, promotions, and web content through the Content Management System (CMS).

Professional Standards

  • Present a professional image at all times to customers, suppliers, and internal partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements & Skills

  • 2โ€“5 years of progressively responsible experience in ecommerce operations, B2B ecommerce, or corporate eโ€‘procurement environments.
  • Experience managing largeโ€‘scale product data sets; product and application experience required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Working knowledge of SQL preferred.
  • Experience with ERP, ecommerce platforms, punchโ€‘out catalogs, and system integrations.
  • Photo editing abilities and HTML proficiency.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, keywords, web usage trends, and IT fundamentals.
  • Highly customerโ€‘focused, detailโ€‘oriented, organized, and reliable.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, problemโ€‘solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a crossโ€‘functional environment.

Education & Experience

  • BA/BS in Business, Information Technology, Marketing, or related field preferred, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
