Job Summary Rewrite:

Reporting to the Director of eCommerce Operations, the Ecommerce Catalog Specialist is responsible for the execution, deployment, and maintenance of product listings across retailer ecommerce channels. This role serves as a primary operational owner of listing readiness, product syndication, new item setup, and publication-state monitoring, ensuring products are launched accurately, efficiently, and on time across digital channels.


The Ecommerce Catalog Specialist acts as a key Salsify subject matter expert, coordinating with cross-functional teams to identify and communicate content, attribute, and setup gaps that may impact retailer publication timelines. This role is responsible for executing retailer listing setups, supporting ongoing catalog maintenance, validating product publication across channels, and maintaining reporting and dashboard visibility related to listing readiness, publication status, and launch progress. The position provides stakeholders with clear insight into product setup and activation across ecommerce channels while helping identify and escalate potential launch risks or blockers.


To be successful in this role, the individual must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and technologically adept, with the ability to quickly learn and leverage new ecommerce platforms, reporting tools, retailer portals, and system integrations. This role requires a self-starter who can identify process improvements, troubleshoot operational challenges, manage multiple product launches simultaneously, and operate with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.


Job Duties

Listing Operations & Product Launches

  • Execute product listing setups and launches across retailer ecommerce channels, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to launch timelines
  • Serve as a primary operational user and subject matter expert for Salsify, managing product content syndication and retailer channel deployment
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify, communicate, and resolve content, attribute, and setup gaps that may delay product publication
  • Validate successful publication of new product listings across retailer channels and ensure content reflects brand expectations
  • Partner with retailer contacts and internal stakeholders to resolve listing setup, publication, and syndication issues
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and escalate launch risks, retailer setup issues, syndication failures, and publication blockers

Listing Readiness, Reporting & Visibility

  • Maintain visibility into listing readiness, publication status, and launch progress across ecommerce channels
  • Own and maintain dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools used to communicate listing readiness, publication state, launch status, and channel activation progress
  • Communicate launch readiness, publication status, risks, and blockers to Ecommerce, Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and other key stakeholders
  • Monitor and report on retailer publication status to ensure timely activation of products across channels

Catalog Maintenance & Listing Health

  • Monitor existing product listings for content, publication, assortment, and syndication issues
  • Coordinate corrective actions with the appropriate internal teams to resolve listing-related issues
  • Identify products that have fallen off retailer sites or contain inaccurate content and facilitate resolution
  • Support ongoing catalog maintenance activities to ensure product information remains accurate and current across retailer channels

Advertising & Search Support

  • Support advertising, search, and digital commerce initiatives through product listing audits, competitive reviews, keyword research support, and retailer content analysis
  • Assist in evaluating retailer content health metrics and reporting to identify opportunities for improved listing quality and discoverability

Process Improvement

  • Identify and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and visibility throughout the product setup, syndication, and publication lifecycle
  • Support adoption of new tools, technologies, and workflows that enhance ecommerce operations

Additional Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Ecommerce, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of experience supporting ecommerce operations, product listings, catalog management, digital merchandising, marketplace management, or related disciplines
  • Experience working within ecommerce platforms, retailer portals, content management systems, or product information management (PIM) platforms
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to learn new technologies, platforms, and processes quickly
  • Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Salsify, Syndigo, Akeneo, Contentserv, or other Product Information Management (PIM) platforms
  • Experience supporting product listings for major ecommerce retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's, Target, Wayfair, Shopify, or similar platforms
  • Experience with product content syndication and retailer item setup processes
  • Experience building, maintaining, or utilizing reporting dashboards and operational trackers
  • Familiarity with ecommerce advertising, search optimization, digital shelf, or marketplace support functions
  • Experience working with large product catalogs and managing high SKU volumes
  • Exposure to data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, or similar platforms

Work Environment

This position operates in a hybrid work environment, requiring a combination of in-office and remote work. The role is based out of the Streetsboro, Ohio headquarters and requires regular onsite collaboration with cross-functional teams, balanced with remote work flexibility in accordance with company policy.

The Ecommerce Catalog Specialist will spend the majority of their time utilizing computers, ecommerce platforms, retailer portals, Product Information Management (PIM) systems, reporting tools, and other business applications to support product listing operations, catalog maintenance, and ecommerce initiatives.
