This position is located in Richmond, VA and offers a schedule of Monday to Thursday in office and the option to work from home on Friday. Responsibilities Responsible for architecture, project ownership, and team leadership. Lead team(s) of talented software developers in building applications and platforms using modern object oriented programming languages. Act as a player-coach, who can mentor & coach highly productive team members. Promote can-do attitude, engineering mindset and collaboration as fundamental team values. Drive continuous improvement by focusing on engineering excellence. Champion the adoption of AI-assisted software development practices to improve developer productivity, code quality, platform reliability, and operational efficiency. Leverage AI-powered monitoring, anomaly detection, replayability, and observability capabilities to improve system resiliency, incident response, root cause analysis, and customer experience. Partner with engineering and product teams to identify opportunities for intelligent processes that reduce manual effort, accelerate sales workflows, and improve operational effectiveness across CoStar platforms. Lead a team in designing, implementing, and governing AI-powered solutions including skills, agents, tools, and workflow automations that enhance both internal productivity and customer-facing products. Promote responsible AI adoption by ensuring solutions adhere to security, privacy, governance, and quality standards. Manage and coordinate projects within teams and across departments. Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends, and best practices that can be leveraged to strength CoStar's technology platform and develop practices Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited, not-for-profit, in-person university or college Track record of commitment to prior employers 5+ years' experience in web development and database technologies 3+ years' experience building large distributed, API-driven systems Strong understanding of OOP and software design patterns Experience using TypeScript, C#, SQL Server, AWS technologies, or similar tools Experience leading a technical team, working through complex requirements and offering relevant, timely technical solutions. Understanding AI technologies and has hands on experience in AI adoption and development. Strong written and verbal communication skills; Must be able to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (direct reports, peers and senior management) Ability to motivate and build high performance software development teams. Familiarity with modern AI platforms, large language models (LLMs), agent orchestration frameworks, or AI-assisted development tools. Understanding of observability, monitoring, replayability, telemetry analysis, and automated incident detection platforms. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Docker and container orchestration a plus.
