Position Title:   Software Architect

Location Information:  Must be local to St. Louis, MO and willing to go into the customers office when needed, not on a regular weekly basis.  Will be mostly remote. 

Position Responsibilities:

As a Software Architect, you will provide technical leadership in the design and development of modern software solutions. You will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and technology leaders to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable applications. This position requires both strategic thinking and hands-on expertise, covering cloud platforms, application and data architecture, and modern engineering approaches.

  • Design and develop enterprise software architectures for complex business applications.
  • Define architectural standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices to guide development efforts.
  • Lead technical design sessions and facilitate regular architecture reviews for software projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business requirements are translated into scalable technology solutions.
  • Guide and support development teams through implementation and deployment, ensuring alignment with architectural vision.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate technology stacks, frameworks, and cloud services to achieve business goals.
  • Ensure applications align with security, performance, availability, and scalability requirements.
  • Promote Test Driven Development (TDD) and champion modern software engineering practices across teams.
  • Mentor software engineers, fostering technical growth and best practice adoption.
  • Drive continuous improvement in development processes and platform capabilities.
  • Participate in solution planning, effort estimation, and the development of technical roadmaps.

 Essential Skills, Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in software architecture or technical leadership roles.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale applications.
  • Expertise in multiple tools across the technology stack, including frontend frameworks, databases, cloud platforms, and deployment technologies.
  • Strong programming skills with experience in JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, .NET, Python, and Node.js.
  • Experience developing and advocating for Test Driven Development practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of relational databases (SQL) and NoSQL technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with container technologies, such as Docker, and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with cloud service providers such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and Azure.
  • Ability to design microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to address complex technical challenges effectively.
  • Clear and compelling communication skills (both verbal and written), with the capacity to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate and learn new technologies quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience using REST APIs, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
