Senior Network Engineer

Location: Onsite (Client Location)

Job Type: Contract

Duration: Through the end of the year with the possibility of extension

Position Overview

ECCO Select is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of a large-scale enterprise network infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, scalability, and security of critical network services across enterprise and data center environments.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Cisco networking technologies, advanced routing protocols, and data center networking, along with experience supporting highly available, mission-critical environments. This individual will collaborate with infrastructure, security, and cloud teams to modernize network architecture while maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise and data center network infrastructure supporting critical business operations.
  • Administer and support Cisco-based routing, switching, and wireless environments.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of routing, switching, and network connectivity issues across production environments.
  • Develop and implement network architecture improvements to increase performance, resiliency, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute network upgrades, maintenance activities, and infrastructure enhancements with minimal business disruption.
  • Monitor network health using enterprise monitoring and management platforms and proactively resolve performance issues.
  • Support cloud connectivity and hybrid network initiatives while ensuring seamless integration with on-premises infrastructure.
  • Maintain high levels of network availability through redundancy, failover planning, and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Partner with security teams to ensure compliance with organizational security standards and network governance requirements.
  • Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in on-call support and maintenance activities as required.
Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship Required.
  • Minimum of eight (8) year arge-scale data center s of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure in large-scale data center environments.
  • Extensive experience administering enterprise-grade Cisco routing and switching platforms.
  • Expert knowledge of:
    • Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
    • Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
    • Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)
    • TCP/IP networking
  • Strong experience configuring and supporting:
    • Cisco Nexus (7000/9000 Series)
    • Cisco Catalyst switching platforms
    • Cisco IOS-XE
    • Cisco NX-OS
  • Proven experience designing, implementing, testing, and supporting enterprise and data center network solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving routing, switching, packet analysis, and network performance optimization.
  • Experience with enterprise network monitoring and management platforms such as SolarWinds, Cisco Catalyst Center, or comparable solutions.
  • Experience supporting cloud networking and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaborative, cross-functional technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical enterprise environments.
  • Experience planning and executing large-scale data center migrations or network modernization initiatives.
  • Knowledge of network resiliency, traffic engineering, convergence optimization, and failover design.
  • Experience with enterprise network security technologies, including identity services and intrusion prevention solutions.
  • Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Desired Technical Experience

Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience with:

  • Designing and implementing enterprise BGP and OSPF routing architectures.
  • Troubleshooting complex production routing and switching issues.
  • Supporting or leading enterprise data center network deployments and migration projects.
  • Implementing high-availability network designs, traffic optimization strategies, and failover solutions.
  • Monitoring and optimizing enterprise network performance using modern management platforms.
  • Supporting hybrid cloud networking and enterprise connectivity initiatives.
