Job description

Duties Description:
Specific duties shall include but are not limited to:
  • Analyze and record the business requirements for new or modified processes with HESC's systems and determine the best hardware and software changes necessary to implement them
  • Attend, participate in HESC business related meetings.
  • Prototype new or modified reports, forms and screens to customer specifications.
  • Modify existing or create new COBOL program code.
  • Writes advanced COBOL/CICS computer programs based on previously developed and approved program specifications
  • Construct code (new or modified) using DB2, COBOL, CICS, IBM JCL, IBM MVS ISPF, Easytrieve, Compuware File-Aid and various other tools.
  • Plans and conduct program design, coding, testing and debugging activities for systems that contain COBOL/CICS technologies within the Grants and Scholarship systems.
  • Experience with the use of both Intertest and CEDF debugging software.
  • Develops unit, component and integrated system test plans and data with user input in various development environments.
  • Construct test data and run unit, runstream and regression test scripts. Review and assess results. Present results to the business area experts.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
