DISTRICT INFORMATION:
Martin County West is a district of approximately 675 students in preschool through 12th grade in southwestern Minnesota. It is a cozy agricultural community with easy access to Albert Lea, Mankato, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and the Iowa Great Lakes region. Though currently spread across three buildings within 7 miles of each other, voters have approved construction of one new school building located just off I-90 in Sherburn. We expect to open the new school in the fall of 2027. There are many opportunities to coach and advise extra- and co-curricular activities.
JOB DUTIES: Plan and implement lessons and curriculum aligned with MN State standards. Enforce classroom and school rules, observe and evaluate student performance, grade homework and tests and keep parents updated on their children's performance and needs. This position will participate in a Single Housing grant the district recently received to teach home remodeling courses in partnership with the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity and a home they are moving into the district near the high school.
JOB LOCATION: Martin County West Junior/Senior High School
QUALIFICATIONS: Minnesota Teacher Licensure in Agriculture Education, Construction or Manufacturing Careers, or Industrial Technology, or extensive experience in and/or professional certification in a relevant trade
CONTRACT: 2026-2027 School Year (August - June)
SALARY: Starting salary based on Master Agreement and experience. (Base pay $49,200) Plus fringe benefits
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Light Work Frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like files, ledgers, lumber, construction materials, and small tools. A good deal of walking and standing are required. Sitting, talking, listening, seeing, and using and reaching with hands are required continuously.
