 This summary provides a listing of the knowledge, skills and abilities that are critical components of the Flight Mechanic Engineer position.

General

This is a full-time position that will report to the Director of Maintenance and interact with the Director of Operations, the Chief Pilot, Systems Operations Control staff, and the Company’s flight crews. The responsibilities include the day-to-day aircraft maintenance needs of the Company involving a variety of maintenance tasks relating to the Company’s aircraft and engines. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of all FAR aircraft maintenance requirements. Good communication skills are required, and the successful candidate must be able to exhibit the values and culture of the company while working with flight crews in a fast paced/dynamic environment.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft maintenance per manufacturers’ recommendations and adhere to approved procedures and data while performing their duties;
  • Meet aircraft at transit stations, checks aircraft maintenance logs, and responds to discrepancies entered the logbook;
  • Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on aircraft;
  • References the Aircraft Maintenance Manual, the Illustrated Parts Catalog, the Structural Repair Manual, the Component Maintenance Manuals, and the wiring diagrams to perform work on aircraft; Completes required paperwork accurately using procedures set forth in the General Maintenance Manual (GMM);
  • Uses only approved and certified hardware, parts, and equipment to be installed or used on aircraft;
  • Promotes teamwork amongst maintenance personnel and flightcrews;
  • Helps maintain facilities and equipment as directed by the leadership team;
  • Upholds safety and security procedures and awareness;
  • Has the ability to obtain additional qualifications through training and education as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) Diploma, or higher is required
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate is required
  • Ability to successfully pass assessment which demonstrates basic knowledge of line maintenance under part 121 operations
  • Two (2) years’ experience on commercial aircraft in a part 121 environment
  • Ability to travel to airport/aircraft field locations with little or short notice
  • Ability to drive tugs, trucks, taxi aircraft, lift trucks, snorkel lift, boom lift and tractor and/or other maintenance vehicles
  • Ability to communication effectively; in both oral and written communication
  • Ability to crawl, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop frequently in confined spaces
  • Ability to work under pressure in a team environment
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets the Company’s insurance standards
  • Active Passport
  • Pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite and the Internet
  • Familiarity with accessing online aircraft manuals
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Work will include outdoors with seasonal weather
  • Bids work schedule by seniority (days, swings, or midnight shift, holidays)
  • Travel will be required
  • Ability to work in elevated areas
  • Position requires extremely strenuous physical work sometimes involving objects in excess of seventy (70) to one hundred (100) pounds, i.e. very heavy.
