Eap Provider information

What is an EAP provider?

EAP Providers, or Employee Assistance Program Providers, are professionals or organizations that deliver support services to employees dealing with personal or work-related issues. Their services typically include confidential counseling, mental health support, crisis intervention, and referrals to specialized care. EAP Providers help employees manage stress, mental health concerns, substance abuse, and other life challenges that may affect job performance and well-being. They work with employers to promote a healthier, more productive workplace. Employers often offer EAP services as a benefit to support employee health and retention.

What does an EAP provider do?

As an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) Provider, your caseload can vary depending on the organization's size and client needs, but you can expect to handle multiple short-term counseling cases concurrently. Most EAP Providers manage a mix of individual sessions, crisis interventions, and referrals to specialized services. Workload is typically balanced by intake coordinators and scheduling systems, and there is a strong emphasis on maintaining client confidentiality and timely documentation. Team meetings and supervision are common, providing support and opportunities to discuss challenging cases or coordinate care for employees in need.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an EAP provider?

To thrive as an EAP Provider, you need a background in mental health counseling, social work, or psychology, typically with a relevant degree and professional licensure (such as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT). Familiarity with case management systems, telehealth platforms, and confidentiality protocols is essential. Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to manage crisis situations make someone stand out in this role. These competencies are crucial for providing effective support, ensuring client confidentiality, and promoting employee well-being in diverse workplace environments.

Job description

Amazon's Worldwide Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) team is responsible for ensuring that Amazon's global operation is the benchmark for environmental excellence across all similar industries. EAP transforms environmental regulatory compliance into a zero-defect process through scalable, sustainable, and technology-enabled solutions that protect the business, our communities, and the environment.
The Sr. Mgr, EAP is responsible for establishing and maintaining cross-organizational alignment on a unified environmental compliance vision across all business units and dependency stakeholders

This leader develops multi-year compliance plans that accounts for emerging regulations, manages program budgets, and holds internal and external stakeholders accountable to compliance milestones through structured program controllership mechanisms. They embed environmental compliance objectives across organizations so that environmental accountability is indistinguishable from day-to-day processes.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in environmental regulatory compliance combined with the strategic leadership capability to drive accountability across VP-level organizations. They communicate technical compliance requirements clearly to executive, operational, and legal audiences, and use data and business intelligence to drive continuous improvement at scale.
This role requires independent judgment, a high tolerance for ambiguity, and the ability to define the right organizational structure, mechanisms, and strategy to meet long-term compliance objectives in a dynamic, high-growth business environment

If you are motivated by solving complex regulatory problems at scale and building the compliance infrastructure, this role is for you.
Key job responsibilities
- Establish and maintain cross-organizational alignment on a unified environmental compliance vision, spanning all in-scope business units and integrating objectives into OP1, OP2, and quarterly planning cycles.
- Own the strategic program roadmap, including media specific compliance programs and field execution frameworks.
- Develop and govern multi-year operating plans, program budgets, and resource allocation strategies that balance immediate compliance obligations against long-term infrastructure investment.
- Build and operate program controllership mechanisms that drive speed, quality, and accountability across internal and external stakeholders, proactively surfacing and mitigating compliance risk.
- Communicate compliance strategy, program status, and escalation risks clearly and concisely to Director and VP-level audiences across Operations, Legal, Finance, and Technology.
- Partner with Amazon Legal, state and local regulators, environmental consultants, and technology teams to resolve compliance barriers, accelerate engineered solutions, and reduce manual dependency in compliance execution.
- Define, implement, and govern KPI and compliance metric frameworks that provide real-time visibility into program performance, milestone achievement, and regulatory posture across all business units.
- Lead the talent management lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, and structured development planning that builds organizational depth and capability.
- Oversee work performed by third-party contractors, consultants, and inspection vendors, holding external partners accountable to program milestones and quality standards through structured audit and governance mechanisms.
- Work autonomously in a highly ambiguous, high-stakes regulatory environment, exercising independent judgment to define the right strategy, structure, and mechanisms for delivering compliance outcomes at scale.
- Embed environmental compliance objectives into day-to-day operational rhythms.
