What You'll Do

As the Blaster Helper / Laborer, you will operate auxiliary equipment and assist equipment operators and blasters in the maintenance of all equipment and the loading, mixing, unloading, and preparation of explosive products for the customer. Other duties will include:

  • Perform basic maintenance of assigned vehicles in order assure its reliability and safe operation.
  • Read gauges and make adjustments to equipment to maintain proper performance in order to assure quality and accurate product delivery.
  • Assist Equipment Operators and Blasters at blast site in order to safely serve the customer.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions in shop, while operating equipment, and while on blast sites in order to protect personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Maintain safe working conditions on and near the blast site.
  • Report all incidents and hazardous conditions to appropriate supervisors.
  • Comply with Loss Control Board mandates in support of the implementation of all policies improving the quality of blasting services and limiting liability exposure related to the blast event.
  • Comply with appropriate areas of the HSE Management System and Engineering Standards. 
  • Proactively support Safety programs by participating in training and safety meetings.

  • Prior manual labor experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and speak English and to communicate in written and verbally
  • Present oneself in a professional manner at all times
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
