Job Brief
As a Junior Track Crew Operator, you will work outdoors moving railcars throughout the plant, assisting with the movement of railcars for loading and unloading of products such as AN Prill, AN Solution, UAN, DEF, NH3, and CO2, and overseeing the plant.

What You'll Do
As a Junior Track Crew Operator, you will work outdoors moving railcars throughout the plant, assisting with the movement of railcars for loading and unloading of products such as AN Prill, AN Solution, UAN, DEF, NH3, and CO2, and overseeing Cheyenne plant rail yard. Other duties will include:
  • Move railcars to loading and offloading stations frequently on uneven surfaces
  • Throw switches / Clean out and clear switches
  • Inspect internal rail tracks and equipment
  • Weigh railcars and calculate shipping weights and loading weights
  • Inspect railcar inspection dates before placing them at loading stations
  • Responsible for the inspection and care of railcar moving equipment
  • Fuels and maintains oil and grease on railcar mover
  • Read technical information and take appropriate action, based on interpretation of Operating Procedures, and technical manuals
  • Makes entries to Operator Logbooks and communicates operating conditions to his/her relief
  • Cooperates and works with other plant operators as required during startups, shutdowns and emergencies
  • Will train and eventually become capable of upgrading into the Senior Track Crew Operator position
  • Maintains good housekeeping in assigned area.
  • Participate in SOP review and updating annually
  • Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations
  • Supports business improvement initiatives and ensures participation from all areas of responsibility.

What We're Looking For:
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical data and aptitude for mechanical principles and math.
  • Previous experience working outdoors and with industrial equipment
  • Strong attention to detail required.
  • Ability to work rotating 8 hour shifts (5 AM - 1 PM and 1PM - 9 PM).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule by being on call every other week (including nights and weekends)
  • Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to work with and around various chemicals, lubricants, and temperatures common to a chemical processing facility.
  • Must be able to successfully obtain and maintain a TWIC card
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.
