Field Engineer - Part Time

SUMMARY: Provide field support to Project Manager and Engineer.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Track and report daily quantities for labor and materials.
  • Provide technical engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets and specifications for contractors.
  • Enforce quality control and expediting subcontractors.
  • Coordinate inspections with consultants.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with contract.
  • Ensure construction work complies with plans and specifications.
  • Update submittal and RFI logs.
  • Track vendor and subcontractor progress.
  • Schedule updates.
  • Project document control.
  • Prepare daily reports.
  • Support project cost tracking.
  • Update project schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Ecological Restoration, Hydrology, Geology, or equivalent.
  • Language Ability: strong written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers.
  • Reasoning Ability: ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of and experience with Excel, Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, or AutoCAD.
  • Physical Presence: Regular and predictable physical presence at assigned work location is an essential qualification for this position due to the importance of the team-related aspects of the essential duties, the aggressive timeframes under which the employee will operate, and the need for face-to-face interaction with employees in order to properly perform job-related functions.
  • Valid current Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to travel, as needed, for projects.
