Job description

Located in Benicia, California, Dunlop Manufacturing, Inc. was founded as a small, family-owned and operated company in 1965, and has since grown to be a leading manufacturer of electronic effects, picks, capos, slides, strings and other musical instrument accessories. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for purchasing and planning the manufacture/assembly of Dunlop products. This person coordinates activities involved with procuring goods such as raw materials, tools, parts, supplies, and corresponds with vendors for the company ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and that they meet the high standards of quality that Dunlop Manufacturing, Inc. is known for. Duties & Responsibilities: This list is representative of the duties and responsibilities of this position, but is not intended to be all-inclusive.
  • Process purchase requirements for various production materials
  • Evaluate items for cost competiveness. Establish and maintain cost reduction programs
  • Recommend new sources and suppliers.
  • Negotiate blanket purchase contracts with new and existing suppliers that will deliver product at lowest total acquisition cost.
  • Interact with a diverse group of suppliers regarding quality discrepancies, requisitions, and PO variances.
  • Plan, modify, and reschedule purchase orders according to production schedules
  • Develop and maintain Bills of Materials
  • Assists with producing and scheduling production runs based on product demands
  • Maintain the schedule and actively communicate changes to production team on a routine basis.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner.
  • High School or some college.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) ability.
  • Comfortable working under the pressure of time constraints.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a well balanced presence.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Able to work on own and within a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and MRP systems.

Benefits
Competitive Salary commensurate with ability. The range is set to be between $32.00- $36.00 hourly.
Benefits include Profit Sharing Plan, 401k Program, Medical, Dental, Vision Plan, Life Insurance, Long-Term Disability Insurance, Paid Holidays, Vacation, and Sick Leave.
