How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Responsible for the insertion of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC).
    Provide maintenance and follow-up care for PICC lines and central lines.
  • Initiates training and education for nursing staff, patient/family as required.
  • Performs assessment skills.
  • Plans nursing care.
  • Intervenes with appropriate action after needs are identified.
  • Evaluates the assessment, planning and intervention process.
  • Provides specialized knowledge, assessment, and skills in clinical setting in regards to obtaining vascular access, maintaining vascular access and troubleshooting vascular access devices.
  • Performs the appropriate application of the device algorithm.
  • Performs ultrasound guided peripheral IV starts.
  • Administers Cath Flow for obstructed lines, per physician order.

What we're looking for 

The right person who will provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Applicants must have a current VA or compact state license. Associate's degree in nursing required 

Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within one year of employment.
  • Previous experience as a Vascular Access nurse. 

Hourly Range: $33.19 - $44.81
