Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pharmacy Resident fulfills the requirements of the PGY-1 Residency Program at TriStar Centennial Medical Center. This position provides clinical services, staffing services, and drug information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other pharmacists as a primary responsibility. The Resident completes a medication use evaluation and a major research project that is presented at a regional residency conference. The Resident assists with the education of pharmacy students from colleges of pharmacy.  


The Pharmacy Resident will be a fully integrated team member in the department, as such the Pharmacy Resident will assist in the performance of daily pharmacy tasks including but not limited to: filling orders for medications; monitoring patient medication therapies; providing drug information; checking medications, IV mixtures and compounded medications prior to distribution; maintaining records; supervision of technical staff; imitation and monitoring of drug dosing and drug information consults; other duties as assigned.  


What you will do in this role:

What qualifications you will need:   


  • Tennessee Registered Pharmacist required within 60 days of start date  


  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm Practice Residency – PGY1 required 


  • Degree from a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmacy Education required
