Instructor / Evaluator to join our
Driving Under the Influence(DUI) Program team. Florida DUI Programs are state-licensed and regulated by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
(FLHSMV) and are designed to provide education, screening, and evaluation services for individuals with DUI-related offenses.
In this role, the Instructor / Evaluator will facilitate DUI education classes and conduct evaluations in accordance with Florida Statutes, FLHSMV requirements, and agency policies. The program helps participants better understand the impact of alcohol and substance use on decision-making, personal responsibility, public safety, and overall well-being while encouraging accountability and positive behavioral change.
Florida DUI Programs serve individuals who may be seeking to satisfy court, probation, or driver license reinstatement requirements. Programs include Level I education for first-time offenders and Level II education for repeat offenders, utilizing structured and interactive educational approaches.
The ideal candidate is confident leading groups, communicates effectively with diverse populations, and can balance structure with empathy. Successful applicants will be organized, professional, and able to manage challenging situations calmly and respectfully while maintaining appropriate boundaries and accurate documentation.

RequirementsMinimum Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Criminal Justice, or a related field required. A Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree may also qualify.
• Minimum of four thousand (4,000) hours of direct experience providing mental health, substance abuse, rehabilitative, or related client care services required.
• Applicants must also possess a minimum of two hundred fifty-two (252) hours of group facilitation experience. Group experience must include clinical, therapeutic, psychoeducational, or didactic group services within a substance abuse, behavioral health, or related human services setting. Applicants must have served as the group leader or co-leader.
• A master's degree in a related human services field may substitute for two thousand (2,000) hours of required experience.
• Current Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) or Certified Criminal Justice Addiction Professional (CCJAP) credential may be considered in combination with relevant experience consistent with Florida DUI Program standards.
• Knowledge of substance abuse education, group dynamics, behavioral health principles, motivational techniques, and client engagement strategies preferred.
• Bilingual/bicultural English and Spanish skills preferred, but not required.
• Applicants must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and possess a valid Florida Driver's License with no more than three (3) points on their driving record to meet BCI automobile insurance eligibility requirements.
• Applicants must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings, including:
- Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Level II Background Screening

- National Sex Offender Registry screening
- Office of Inspector General (OIG) screening, if applicable

Work Location: Fort Walton Beach (FWB)
Work Hours: Flexible and fluctuating schedule based on program needs; forty (40) hours per week.
Wage: The wage for this position is
$22.00 per hour.
