Job Summary

The Superintendents for our Data Center projects in Humble, TX are responsible for overseeing field operations across civil construction, underground electrical distribution, and substation projects. This position provides leadership to field personnel and ensures all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company, client, and regulatory standards. The Superintendent manages daily site operations, coordinates with project teams, and ensures projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day field operations across civil construction, underground electrical distribution, and substation projects.
  • Supervise and direct crews, foremen, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage daily and weekly work schedules to meet project timelines.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA, company, and client safety standards.
  • Conduct safety meetings, job briefings, and site inspections.
  • Coordinate construction activities including duct banks, trenching, excavation, conduit installation, vaults, and concrete foundations.
  • Oversee installation of underground electrical systems and substation components, including foundations, grounding systems, and equipment setting.
  • Monitor project progress, productivity, and quality to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Manage materials, equipment, and logistics to support field operations.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, clients, inspectors, and utility representatives.
  • Perform quality control inspections and ensure all work meets design and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain daily reports, production tracking, and job documentation.
  • Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and construction challenges.
  • Assist with budgeting, cost control, and schedule adherence.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop field personnel and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Support commissioning activities and project closeout.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 to 10+ years of experience in civil construction, underground utilities, or electrical infrastructure.
  • Previous leadership experience as a Foreman, General Foreman, or Superintendent.
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction practices including excavation, trenching, and concrete work.
  • Working knowledge of underground electrical distribution systems.
  • Understanding of substation construction, including foundations, grounding, and equipment installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and utility compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred
  • CDL Class A preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Experience with duct bank installations and underground conduit systems.
  • Experience supporting substation construction or commissioning activities.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.
