Job Description:
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Duck Creek Policy Business Analyst with 10+ years of experience in Business Analysis and strong expertise in the P&C Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Duck Creek Policy, policy administration processes, requirements gathering, and working with business and technology teams on complex insurance transformation initiatives.
The candidate will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, helping define requirements, functional solutions, and implementation strategies for Duck Creek Policy.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead business analysis activities for Duck Creek Policy implementation, enhancement, and transformation initiatives.
• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, SMEs, architects, and technical teams to understand business needs and define solutions.
• Gather, analyze, and document complex business and functional requirements.
• Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, functional specifications, process flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Provide subject matter expertise on Duck Creek Policy and P&C insurance processes.
• Analyze policy administration workflows, identify gaps, and recommend process and system improvements.
• Work closely with Duck Creek architects and development teams to ensure requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions.
• Participate in solution design discussions and provide functional guidance on Duck Creek Policy capabilities and configurations.
• Support the complete policy lifecycle, including new business, policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, cancellations, reinstatements, and policy changes.
• Review and validate Duck Creek configurations and delivered functionality against business requirements.
• Develop and review business scenarios, test cases, and UAT requirements.
• Support SIT/UAT, defect triage, and resolution by providing detailed functional analysis.
• Facilitate requirements workshops, walkthroughs, demos, and stakeholder meetings.
• Identify dependencies, risks, gaps, and impacts across business processes and integrated applications.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Business Analysts as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with significant experience in the P&C Insurance domain.
• Strong hands-on experience with Duck Creek Policy.
• Proven experience supporting Duck Creek Policy implementations, upgrades, enhancements, or transformation programs.
• Strong understanding of P&C insurance and policy administration processes.
• Extensive experience in requirements gathering, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder management.
• Strong experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications.
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end insurance policy lifecycle.
• Experience working with technical teams on integrations and downstream/upstream system dependencies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with senior business and technology stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working on large-scale Duck Creek Policy implementations or modernization programs.
• Experience with Duck Creek configuration and understanding of out-of-the-box versus customized functionality.
• Knowledge of integrations between Duck Creek Policy and external systems.
• Experience supporting UAT and production implementation activities.
• Experience working with large insurance carriers or complex P&C insurance environments.
• Previous experience mentoring or leading Business Analysts.
• Strong experience working in distributed/onshore-offshore delivery models.
