Job description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Duck Creek Analyst for a Direct Hire or Contract-to-Hire opportunity with a Major Insurance Company located in Milwaukee, WI; Rolling Meadows. IL; or Naperville, IL. There is potential for this position to be remote as well. 
Compensation: Up to $90,000 per year, W2, based on qualifications
Position Overview:
This role works closely with Business Solutions Leads, Architects, and other key IT resources to drive the planning and definition of new technology solutions and enhancements to existing solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong P&C insurance experience and experience with Duck Creek Policy. This position supports a hybrid schedule, requiring work from the office Monday through Wednesday, with the option for remote work on Thursday and Friday. A fully remote arrangement may be considered for the ideal candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and data requirements from stakeholders across the insurance organization
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, source-to-target mappings, and user stories for data and reporting solutions
  • Profile, validate, and analyze data by writing SQL queries against source systems and the data warehouse
  • Interpret Duck Creek Policy XML data structures, including nodes and key/value pairs, and map policy data to staging tables and columns
  • Analyze the downstream impact of Duck Creek Policy changes, including new or modified fields and their flow through XML, SQL, Duck Creek Insights, data marts, and reporting
  • Partner with developers and data engineers to ensure solutions meet documented requirements and data is accurately mapped and delivered
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, present findings, and produce documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Support data quality, governance, reporting, and data issue analysis within the Data Management organization
  • Primary Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technology field with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR 7+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst with strong requirements gathering, documentation, process analysis, and impact analysis skills
  • Hands-on experience supporting, configuring, or analyzing Duck Creek Policy
  • Hands-on experience with Duck Creek Insights and an understanding of its role in the downstream reporting and analytics environment
  • Strong understanding of P&C insurance data structures, integrations, and data flows
  • Experience interpreting XML-based policy data and mapping policy fields to downstream data structures
  • Experience analyzing the impact of application or policy data changes on downstream data and reporting
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data analysis, reporting, and data validation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship
  • Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Duck Creek Unity
  • Familiarity with Duck Creek Extract Mapper
  • Experience with SQL Server and data warehouse environments
  • Experience with data marts, data lakes, ETL/data extraction, or downstream reporting solutions
  • Familiarity with bureau/statistical reporting and insurance regulatory data
  • Exposure to Agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira
